WHAT IS GATE EXAM?


GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is a typical online exam for Engineering topics, Masters in Technology, and PhD admissions, as well as for getting hired in major public and private sector firms.   • Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and Technology, or a Master’s degree in Science in any comparable field. Those in their final year of study in the same programs are also qualified to take the GATE exam.

GATE Exam Syllabus


GATE curriculum is one of the most comprehensive programs, covering a wide range of topics in engineering streams. There will be total of 65 questions. The following are some of the types of questions asked in the GATE exam:

Question related to mathematical problems in engineering which are of 13 to 15 marks, Questions about general aptitude which will be of 15 marks and some Core questions of about 70 to 72 marks.

The questions will be MCQs, MSQs and NATs. You will get 3 hours to finish your examination. The total number of marks will be 100 and there will be some negative marking as well. 0.33 and 0.66 for 1 and 2 marks MCQs respectively and no negative marking for other types of questions.
